A homeowner's guide

Getting your dock ready to sell

Buyers walk the dock, and a worn one gets noticed. Before you list, looking at what can be restored gives you a place to start without assuming the whole structure needs replacing.

An existing floating dock, with a replacement section in place.

Start with what is already there

Restoring what is sound keeps the existing structure and layout. A focused repair can be simpler than planning a new build, but the condition decides the scope. We look first rather than promise a particular timeline.

What we look at before a listing

  • Decking boards and fasteners
  • Hardware and hinges
  • Connections between sections
  • Floats and how the dock sits in the water
  • The gangway
  • Railings and edges

What you get

A documented look first with photos, a written scope and price, and a walkthrough when the work is done. We provide photos you can share with your agent.

You obtain any permit the work needs. We supply photos, measurements and a written scope for the application. We do not set or drive pilings or use cranes or heavy machinery.

A note for realtors

Realtors: send us photos of a listing's dock and we will tell you what it needs.
